What dessert makes you think of home? For me, it’s my Favorite Pineapple Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. This is my go-to cake when I just need a taste of home. For as long as I can remember, it’s been a favorite in my family for a long time. I start with a basic 1-2-3-4 yellow cake, probably the first cake I learned to bake when I was a child. It follows the primary ratio of 1 cup of butter to 2 cups of sugar to 3 cups of flour and four eggs. The layers come out perfectly and are a blank canvas for just about any type of cake you’d like to make. I’ve filled this version with a cooked pineapple filling. Pineapple not your favorite? Have fun and fill with some of your favorite flavors too. This is one recipe to keep handy for your next family celebration.
